Use Grammarly's grammar help because well, why wouldn't you? Most of you have seen my CoE posts and know that I have the tendency to gripe from time to time but today is not one of those days. Today I wanted to fill you in on a not so secret piece of information. The world of publishing is ever changing and the world of self-publishing is rapidly growing. Because of this, writers and editors need to find new and creative ways to make their work shine and one extra tool you can have in your arsenal is Grammarly.
Wanna know what it is? Grammarly is an automated proofreader and your personal grammar coach. Sounds pretty cool right? I thought so to. Thats why I decided to share. Most of us are use to utilizing Scrivener or MS Word and both have their positives and negatives. Grammerly does to. But I found that hands down, grammerly beats default MS Word and is one of the few programs out there that will do more than proof your work. Depending on what you write, it may or may not be able to replace a live proofread but without a doubt, it does give you an extra set of 'eyes' on your work, and we all know how important that is!
So my advice for this weeks CoE post is to try it. As an editor I see my fair share of horrid typos and grammatical mistakes. Why not use every tool available to make your work the best it can be....just a thought!
